Heintje

There has been a time without internet. No Reverbnation, no YouTube, bo Facebook and no Young-Artists website. The only way to be discovered as a young star, was when a representative of a music publisher heard you by accident.
And that`s what happened when CNR producer/talentscout Addy Kleijngeld met 12 year old Heintje Simons in 1967.

His first song `Mama` was a Dutch version of the Italian song `Mamma son tanto felice` (1940). After his succes in the Netherlands, it was only one step (literally, from Kerkrade) to Germany.
Hein Simons is still a famous `schlager` singer in Germany and the Netherlands, and probably the rest of the world.

Although it is not usual to publish songs from the sixties on this site, we did it anyway to show what can happen to all of the other young artists on this site. Wondering who is still there in 2067.

Hendrik (Nicolaas Theodoor) Simons (August 12, 1955, Kerkrade, NL)
